Died this day in 2003, Bill Mauldin (William Henry Mauldin) Mountain Park, New Mexico, cartoonist. WWII cartoonist, his image of Lincoln grieving after JFK’s assassination (far right) his most famous work. Born 10/29/1921, he died of Alzheimer's and pneumonia at age 81.
