Van Q Temple, started his DJ career at WPFA Radio, Pensacola, Florida. He did the early morning show (signing the station on at sunrise). His character, Iula Humps, was the supposed 'cleaning lady' at the radio station. Van Q sharpened his comedy skills at the station, did a couple of comedy albums and appeared in one 'B' movie. While he may have worked in Atlanta, I do know that he worked in radio in Nashville and died there in the early 90's. ~Dwight Stagner youtube

Most of Van's radio career was in Atlanta . He was the early morning DJ for years with his comedy sidekick Ray Kinnamon. He was represented by Bill Lowery, and you can hear Bill laughing loudly on his comedy albums. HE owned and operated Radio Station WSSA "The Country Boot" in Morrow, GA
for many years. In 1978, he sold the station and moved to Pensacola where he purchased a sailboat dealership. The last time I talked to him in the mid 80's, he was the radio voice of the 7th Day Adventist . Not sure what happened to him after that but I heard he died in Blairsville, GA in August of 2004 at the age of 72.
