The album was recorded May 2-3, 1986 at the Beverly Theater, and was released on July 30, 1986 on the Atlantic label as Carlin's fifth HBO stand-up concert special. Carlin's not resting on his laurels here, presenting an abundance of new, politically incorrect material while expanding a few older routines.
