Recorded live at George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
The '90s found Dennis Miller hosting his own cable TV show, appearing in high-profile commercials and enjoying cultural icon status as the spokesman for the peeved. In 1988, when this album was released, Miller hadn't yet developed his trademark "rant" style. He was essentially a standup comic, but all the ingredients of his style were already in place; the obsessive pop-culture references, the intellectual aloofness, the black humor, and the ability to drop 50-cent words without fear of pomposity. This live recording finds Miller waxing hilariously sarcastic about everything from air travel to personal quirks. While the topics he covers have been tackled by other comics over the years, Miller's sophisticated, deadpan style makes it all seem fresh and unremittingly funny. Source: Liner notes
